Nisha Ganatra is a film director born on 25th June 1974 in British Columbia, Canada. She is best known for writing and directing the 1999 independent comedy-drama film “Chutney Popcorn”. She started her career by writing and directing in 1996 with the short film “Junky Punky Girlz”. The following year, she wrote, directed, and produced the short film “Down Soda”. In 1999, she wrote, directed, produced and starred in the comedy-drama film “Chutney Popcorn”.
She made her television directorial debut in 2001 with the reality television series “The Real World: Back to New York”. In 2012, she directed the supernatural drama television series “Haven”. That same year, she directed “Big Time Rush”, which starred Kendall Schmidt and James Maslow. In 2014, she was a consulting producer on season 1 of the comedy-drama series “Transparent”, for which she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Comedy Series.
