Noma Dumezweni is a British actress who was born on July 28, 1969, in Swaziland. She moved to England as a refugee and grew up in Felixstowe, Suffolk. She began her acting career in 2002 when she participated in the movie “Dirty Pretty Things”. That same year she debuted as a stage actress in the Shakespeare plays “Antony and Cleopatra” as Chairman at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The following year she made her tv debut appearing on an episode of the tv series “Holby City”. In 2008 she was part of the play “The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other” at the Royal National Theatre. However, her breakthrough role was in 2016 as Hermione Granger in the famous play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, where she acted alongside Jamie Parker, Paul Thornley, and Poppy Miller. For this role, she won a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Play in 2017 and was honored with the Theatre World Award in 2018.
