Olivia Colman was born on January 30, 1974 in Norfolk, England. She studied at Homerton College and the Cambridge Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She originally began her career as a comedic actress, originally primarily appearing on BBC radio shows. Her breakout role in Tyrannosaurus won her an award at the Sundance Film Festival. She moved into a more dramatic career path when she started her role as Ellie Miller on Broadchurch. In 2017, Colman won a Golden Globe for her supporting role in The Night Manager.
