Ólöf Arnalds is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who was born on January 4, 1980 in Reykjavik, Höfuðborgarsvæði, Iceland. She was born and raised in Reykjavik learning to play musical instruments like violin, viola, cello, guitar at a young age. She has a degree in Composition and New Media from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts. Arnalds is often known as a touring member of the Icelandic ensemble Múm. She has also played and recorded with Slowblow, Mugison, Nix Noltes and Kitchen Motors. She collaborated with Skuli Sverrisson on his award-winning 2006 album Seria with Arnals singing the lead on the album’s selections. She dropped her debut album Vid Og Vid in 2007 through the independent label 12 Tonar. Her sophomore full-length the One Little Indian arrived in 2010.
