Emmy Award-winning American musician, singer, and songwriter, Parry P Gripp was born on 22nd September 1967 in Santa Barbara, California. His musical career began in 1994 with the formation of the band Nerf Herder. The band gained popularity for its unique sound which had references to comedy and pop culture. The genre of music can be classified as geek rock which has major influences from pop-punk. The band is known for referring to some of the most iconic franchises like the third part of ‘Ghostbusters’. Since the third part would never happen, he used it as a metaphor for his romantic fantasies never coming true. The band used a typical punk arrangement which was bass heavy and several synthesizer riffs spread throughout the film. Gripp's growth in the nerd music genre also led to collaborations with rappers like MC Frontalot and MC Lars. He has also created advertising music for brands like Wawa Food Markets and Hallmark Cards.
