Patrice Bio

Patrice, born Patrice Babatunde Bart-Williams on July 9th, 1979 in Kerpen, Germany is Sierra Leonean-German singer, songwriter, music producer and filmmaker. He began playing music and learning the  guitar around 11 years old. His musical genres that he focuses on are reggae and punk music and blending the two styles together.

He formed the band Bantu in 1999. Their debut album released in 2000 entitled Fufu. The album spawned the two hit singles “Nzogbu: featuring Brother Resistance and “Fire Inna Dancehall.” In 2004 they released their self titled album Bantu. In 2005 Bantu won a pair of Kora Awards for Best Group in West Africa and Best Group in Africa. Their third album, Fuji Satisfaction-Soundclash in Lagos was released the year after. In 2001 Bantu released their fourth album called No Man Stand Alone.

In 1999 Patrice also released solo music alongside his career with Bantu. His debut EP was released in 2000 called Lions. In the same year he attracted attention from Sony and then released his first studio album called Ancient Spirits. In 2005 he released his third album called Nile.
