Patterson Hood Bio

Patterson David Hood was born on 24th March, 1964 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, United States. He is a singer, musician, songwriter, artist, performer, and co-founder of the band called Drive-By Truckers. Pop, rock, and country are his musical specialties, and his style is alternative country-rock, alternative/indie rock, and Americana. Hood grew up in a musical household and showed interest in music at a young age, he started writing songs at the age of 8 and started playing guitar at the age of 14. Some of his song highlights are “Hate This Town”, “Leaving Time”, “Come Back Little Star”, “Better Off Without”, “She's A Little Randy”, “Foolish Young Bastard”, and many more. In the movies, he is known for his work on the soundtracks of “That Evening Sun”, “Criminal Minds”, “The Girl”, “Chrystal”, etc. In 2009, he was nominated for an HFCS Award for Best Original Song for “That Evening Sun”.
