Patty Griffin Bio

Patty Jean Griffin was born on 16th March, 1964 in Old Town, Maine, United States. She is a singer, songwriter, composer, musician, artist, and performer. Folk, pop, and rock are her musical specialties, and her style is contemporary folk, contemporary singer/songwriter, folk-pop, adult alternative pop/rock, and alternative/indie rock. Some of her song highlights are “Mary”, “Chief”, “Top of the World”, “Let Him Fly”, “Star on the Ride”, “Rain”, and many more. In the movies, she is known for her work on “Elizabethtown”, “The Other Woman”, “Griffin & Phoenix”, etc. Griffin has a total of 7 Grammy Award nominations and 2 wins. In 2010, she won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Gospel Album for “Downtown Church”, and in 2019, she won a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album for “Patty Griffin". In 2007, she was named Artist of the Year by the Americana Music Association.
