Paul Goldschmidt was born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 10, 1987. He was the eighth round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft. He currently plays for St. Louis Cardinals and serves as the first baseman. He made his MLB debut on August 2011. The Diamondbacks traded him to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018. Goldschmidt participated in six All-Star Games, from 2013 to 2018. He has also been the National League Hank Aaron Awardee in 2013 and the Wilson Defensive Player in 2015. He also won the Gold Gloves Award in 2013, 2015, and 2017. He also earned four silver sluggers, and he was named Player of the Month in June 2018. In 2013 and 2015, he was also the Major Baseball League MVP.
