Paul McCartney Bio

Paul McCartney is a British singer, musician, composer, songwriter and producer, better known for being a former member of The Beatles. He was born in Liverpool on the 18th June, 1942 as James Paul McCartney. He started his musical career as a teenager, shortly after meeting John Lennon. They began writing songs and making music as a duo before incorporating their high school friend George Harrison and Stuart Sutcliffe, who years later would be replaced by Ringo Starr, with whom they formed a couple of bands, but it was not until 1960 when they adopted the name The Beatles and recorded the first original song “My Bonnie”. In 1962, after signing with Parlophone Records, they started releasing some of their greatest hits like the song “Love Me Do”. In 1970, McCartney left the band and he began his musical career as a soloist by releasing the album “McCartney”. That same year, he formed the group Wings alongside his wife Linda, guitarist Denny Laine and drummer Denny Seiwell. He continued to have a prominent musical career for the next four decades, reaching the most varied distinctions and awards, including being named Sir by Queen Elizabeth II of England in 1998.
