Paula Abdul is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and choreographer. She was born Paula Julie Abdul on the 19th of June, 1962, in San Fernando, California. She began her career as a dancer in the late 1980s, first as a cheerleader for the Lost Angeles Lakers, then quickly moving on to be the main choreographer of The Jackson 5 and Mike Jagger, among others. In 1988, she released her debut album “Forever Your Girl” which included the singles “Knocked Out” and “The Way That You Love Me” and worldwide hit “Straight Up” which topped the U.S. Charts during several weeks. Her second album, “Spellbound” was released in 1991 and it debuted on the top of the Billboard Charts. In 1991, Abdul got honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is a multi-awarded artist and she holds a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package.
