Pepe Aguilar, born Jose Antonio Aguilar Jimenez on August 7th, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas. Pepe was born into a musical family as his father and mother are both singers and actors. He made his stage debut at the age of three when he joined his father, Antonio Aguilar, on stage for a concert at Madison Square Garden. Pepe played a lot of rock music in highschool and was part of a band called Equs. He cites his musical influences as Pink Floyd and The Who.
In 1989 Pepe began his career as a solo artist with the release of his debut album entitled Pepe Aguilar Con Tambora, In 1992 he released a mariachi style album called Recuerdame Bonito. In 1998 he released another album called Por Mujeres Como Tu. In 1999 Pepe released the album Por El Amor De Siempre, an entirely cover album dedicated to classical Latin singers. Pepe has released a total of 29 albums throughout his career.
Pepe Aguilar is the recipient of multiple awards. He won 4 Grammy Awards from 2000 to 2011. From 2006 to 2014 Pepe has also won 4 Latin Grammy Awards.
