Perfume is a 3-girl pop group from Hiroshima, Japan. The group was formed by Kashino Yuka (known as Kashiyuka), Nishiwaki Ayaka (known as A~chan), and Kawayuka (who later left in 2000 and was replaced by Nocchi in the same year). Omoto Ayano is Nocchi’s real name and they started as high school friends and were 11/12 year-olds at the time.
They debuted in the late 2000s with their Game, an album that won double-platinum and was the first showcase of their high-BPM techno-dance anthems. In 2002 they released Omajinai Perori (Good Luck Charm) as a single. They got their first Top 10 hit on Japan's Oricon in 2007 with Polyrhythm which would eventually be featured in Cars 2. That success solidifies their spot as international stars and celebrities. Their 2011 album JPN brought them into Asian and American markets and 2013's Level3 smashed the Billboard World Albums Top Five.
