Peta Murgatroyd Bio
Peta Murgatroyd, born as Peta Jane Murgatroyd, on July 14, 1986, in Auckland, New Zealand, is a New Zealand-born, American professional Latin dancer. Her family moved to Australia when she was only eighteen months old. Peta Murgatroyd started studying classical ballet at the age of four and she continued to train for the next twelve years. Because of an ankle injury, she had to give up playing ballet, and since the age of sixteen, she decided to take on Latin dancing. Soon, she became the W.A. Amateur Latin State Champion in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, Peta Murgatroyd joined the cast of Burn the Floor with whom she toured around the world for the next six years. When Burn the Floor landed on Broadway, she became the lead dancer. She is most famous for appearing on Dancing with the Stars in 2011 and becoming a part of the official professional cast since season thirteen.
