Peter Maffay Bio
Peter Alexander Makkay, better known as Peter Maffay, was born on August 30, 1949, in Brașov, Romania. He is a very talented musician, singer, and composer from Germany. His career started when he was only a teenager and he grouped the band "The Dukes". In 1969 he debuted with the single "Du '', which became a great hit in Germany. A year after he released his first album "Für das Mädchen, das ich Liebe" through Telefunken label. Between 1979 and 1980 he released two albums "Steppenwolf" and "Revanche" which were a huge success, selling millions of copies in Germany. He has collaborated with german and foreigners artists to make new albums, concerts, and even musicals films, like "Tabaluga" a film inspired by the five albums which tell the fairy tale about a green dragon. He received in 2011 the Steiger Award due to his amazing music career.
