Peter Sarsgaard was born in Bellville, Illinois on March 7, 1971. Peter was trained by Actors' Studio in New York and began his career in comedy as well as becoming a co-founder of the comedy improvisational group Mama's Pot Roast. He made his on-screen debut in 1995 in the movie Dead Man Walking but made a serious impression with his role in Boys Don't Cry in 1999.
Peter is seen on TV series as well, including The Slap, Wormwood, and Running Naked in The Universe. His most iconic roles can be seen in Green Lantern alongside Ryan Reynolds, The Magnificent Seven alongside Denzel Washington, and Loving Pablo alongside Penelope Cruz. Peter is the winner of the Best Supporting Actor Award from the Boston Society of Film Critics Awards in 2003.
