Petey Pablo is the stage name of the American hip-hop artist Moses Barrett III. He was born on July 22, 1973, in Snow Hill, North Carolina, but then moved to New York City, New York where he started his career as a professional rapper. Petey Pablo met Busta Rhymes and Black Rob in New York City and after rapping in a public bathroom, he was signed to Jive Records, an independent record label, which allowed him to release his debut album named Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry. The album peaked at number thirteen on Billboard 200 and soon was certified Gold by the RIAA. In 2004, he released his second album, named Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Petey Pablo departed from Jive Records and founded his own record label named Carolina Music Group through which he released his third album named Proper Procedures. In 2018 he released his fourth album named Keep on Goin’.
