Petula Clark is a singer and actress born on 15th November 1932 in Ewell, Surrey, England. She is widely known for her extensive career that spans over 70 years. She started her career on BBC Radio as a child entertainer. She rose to fame in 1954 with the hit single “The Little Shoemaker”. Two years later, she started recording music in French. In 1959, she released “Sailor”, which went on to become a UK number-one hit. Her other successful releases included “Romeo”, Chariot”, and “Predns Mon Coeur”.
In 1964, her releases were successful in the United States. Most of her songs were co-written by Jackie Trent and Tony Hatch. Some of her popular releases include “I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love”, “Color My World”, “Don’t Sleep in the Subway”, “Kiss Me Goodbye”, “Downtown”, and others. Petula has so far sold over 68 million records. She has also appeared in the film “Murder in Reverse?” “London Town”, “Don’t Ever Leave Me”, “That Woman Opposite”, and many others.
