Philip Bailey is an American R&B singer, born on May 8, 1951, in Denver, Colorado. He made a name for himself as a member and one of the two lead singers of the band Earth, Wind & Fire. He is a several times Grammy Award-winning recording artist, songwriter, and producer who is known for his four-octave vocal range and distinctive falsetto register.
Throughout his career, Philip has released several solo albums, such as Grammy Award-nominated Chinese Wall. The album included the duet Easy Lover with Phil Collins, which won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Overall Performance in a Video in 1985. He has also worked with Stevie Wonder, Julio Iglesias, Little Richard, Ray Parker Jr, Anita Pointer, George Duke, and many more. The Colorado native was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his work with Earth, Wind & Fire and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee College of Music.
