Pillow Queens is an Irish indie-rock band formed in 2016 in Dublin. The band was established by Sarah Corcoran and Pamela Connolly, and they were joined by drummer and singer Rachel Lyons and guitarist Cathy McGuinness. Within a few months, Pillow Queens released their debut EP, Calm Girls.
In 2017, the band toured the UK and performed on festival stages. Their second EP, State of the State, came out in 2018 on UK DIY label Specialist Subject. During this time, the band performed with bands like Pussy Riot, Future Islands, Idles. On September 25, 2020, they released their debut album In Waiting. The single Gay Girls, from the album In Waiting, was featured on the soundtrack of the Irish film Dating Amber. In 2021, the band signed with Royal Mountain Records.
Their music was featured on the album Salvation alongside Sinead O’Connor, Irish Women In Harmony, The Cranberries, and Kellie Lewis.
