Pirulo y La Tribu was formed in 2012 in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Francisco “Pirulo” Rosada Rosario, who was born in 1977 in the San Jose Reservoir barrio. Dave Valentin, Willie Colón, Los Van Van, and Cortijo have been named his biggest influences. In 2004, he was signed to play, produce, write, and sing for White Lion Records. He created a song that was nominated for Latin Grammy Awards. Rosario formed La Tribu with a friend and they both worked on hit singles including “Esa Es La Que Me Gusta,” and “Loco Pero Feliz,” which made appearances on the Latin Billboard chart in 2014.
