PJ Harvey was born as Polly Jean Harvey in Yeovil, England on October 9, 1969. Her career started as the vocalist for Automatic Dlamini.
In 1992, Rolling Stone named her as the Best Singer-Songwriter and Best New Artist. She also received an NME Award for her Outstanding Contribution to Music. Her albums include Dry which was released in 1992 which was followed by Rid of Me and 4-track demos a year later. The year 1995 saw the release of To Bring You My Love and in 1996 she released Dance Hall at Louise Point with John Parish.
Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea which was released in 2000 received the Mercury Prize. Her other albums include White Chalk, Uh Huh Her, Let England Shake, and The Hope Six Demolition Project.
