Plies Bio
Plies is the stage name of the American rapper, songwriter, and the co-founder of Big Gates Records, Algernon Lanier Washington. Plies was born on July 1, 1976, in Fort Myers, Florida and together with his stepbrother, known by his stage name Big Gates, who is also a famous rapper, founded the Big Gates Records in 1990 after graduating from college. His debut single was released in 2007 called Shawty, peaked at number nine on the Hot 100. His debut album was released the same year named The Real Testament. He has released four more studio albums since then and multiple successful singles. Plies is famous for having collaborated with many famous artists such as Fat Joe, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, and many more.
