Born as Amanda Lee Rogers, Portia Lee James DeGeneres, professionally known as Portia de Rossi, is an Australian-American model and actress. She was born on January 31, 1973, in Horsham, Victoria, Australia. Her first breakthrough role was in the Australian film Sirens. After that, Portia de Rossi moved to Los Angeles, United States, where she earned more significant roles like her role in the comedy film Scream 2 and Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher. She is also seen in some famous films such as the TV film America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story, Cursed, and The Night We Called It a Day. In 2014 she joined the cast of ABC series Scandal in a reoccurring role. In 2019, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Portia de Rossi announced that she is retiring from acting.
