Portishead Bio

Portishead, formed in 1991, in Bristol, England, is an English rock band, considered to be one of the pioneers of trip-hop music. The band consists of Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley, as main members of the band, while there are also some supporting members that perform with Portishead while on tours. Portishead has released their debut album back in 1994, named Dummy. Dummy has received the Mercury Music Prize in 1995 and is considered one of the greatest trip-hop albums of all time. The band released their second, self-titled album in 1997, before splitting up with the members perusing their solo careers in the period between 1999 and 2005. In 2008, Portishead came back with their third studio album, named Third.
