Preity Zinta Bio
Preity Zinta is an Indian film actress and businesswoman. She was born Preetam Singh Zinta on the 31st of January, 1975, in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. She made her big screen debut in the 1998 Indian Hindi thriller “Dil Se…” directed by Mani Ratnam. In 2000, she landed her breakthrough role, in the drama movie “Kya Kehna” which became a huge box-office, for which she earned a nomination for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards. In the same year, she appeared in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's drama “Mission Kashmir”. In 2001, she played in the comedy-drama “Dil Chahta Hai” starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna. The movie was named the Best Feature Film in Hindi at the National Film Awards and it also received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film. In 2006, she starred in the romance drama “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” alongside Amitabh Bachchan. Overall, Zinta has starred in more than a dozen movies, she is one of Bollywood’s most famous actresses, and she has received many awards for her work.
