Rae Sremmurd Bio
Pronounced “Ray Shrim-er”, Rae Sremmurd is a duo comprised of Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee, who are brothers in real life, born in the early 1990s, and are only one year apart. They also share a penchant for music and dancing. The duo, who do not release their real names to add to their persona, were born in California, yet moved to Tupelo, Mississippi, when they were very young. The area in which they lived was full of crime, and to escape the chaos, the two immersed themselves in music, teaching themselves how to record and make beats. Rae Sremmurd eventually met P-Nasty, a music producer from the Tupelo area who introduced them to Mike WiLL, the producer behind Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and others.
In 2013, Rae Sremmurd released their single “We”, which was followed up by the very successful song “No Flex Zone”, a popular single on the club scene. The two recorded a music video for the second song, which features them dancing with their friends and some of their fans.
