Raine Maida is a Canadian singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer born in Weston, Ontario, Canada on February 18, 1970. He is best known for being the lead singer and songwriter for the alternative rock band Our Lady Peace. Maida helped form the band in 1992 with Mike Turner. The band released nine studio albums, one live album, and two compilation albums. All nine of their studio albums charted on the Canadian Albums chart. In 2006 Maida started his solo career and released the EP Love Hope Hero and has since released the EPs Pachamama EP I and Pachamama EP II. In 2007 he released his debut studio album titled The Hunters Lullaby. He released his second studio album in 2013 titled We All Get Lighter. In 2014 he was appointed a member of the Order of Canada for his charitable and humanitarian work.
