Rakim Bio
Rakim is an American rapper born in Wyandanch, New York on January 28, 1968. He is best known as one of the members of the hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim. The duo formed in Long Island, New York in 1986. They released their first single, “Eric B. Is President” not long after forming. In 1987 they released their debut studio album titled Paid in Full. The album charted at number 8 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 58 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA and was considered one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. The duo has released four studio albums and five compilation albums. The duo broke up in 1993, but got back together in 2016. While they were on break Rekim started focusing on his solo career and released several solo albums, including The 18th Letter, The Master, and The Seventh Seal.
