Rancid is a music group from Berkeley, California. The group was formed in 1991 and is widely recognized for being one of the key players who revived the interest in punk rock in America in the 1990s. After their first band “Operation Ivy” was disbanded in 1991, the founding members, vocalist/guitarist Tim Armstrong, and bassist/vocalist Matt Freeman started a new band. The band has so far seen two lineup changes, with Matt Freeman and Tim Armstrong being the only original members. Their current lineup consists of vocalist/guitarist Armstrong, bassist/vocalist Freeman, guitarist/vocalist Lars Frederiksen, and drummer Branden Steineckert. The band has so far released nine studio albums. Some of these albums include Let’s Go in 1994, And Out Come the Wolves in 1995, Life Won’t Wait in 1998, Indestructible in 2003, Let the Dominoes Fall in 2009, Honor is All We Know in 2014, and Trouble Maker in 2017. The band has sold more than four million albums worldwide, making them one of the most successful punk rock bands of all time.
