Randy Moss Bio

Randy Moss is an American television sports analyst and former professional football player born in Rand, West Virginia on February 13, 1977. He played for 13 seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver. Moss played football at DuPont High School in Belle, West Virginia. He went on to play college football at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia from 1996 to 1997. In 1998 he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round, 21st overall, in the 1998 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract for $4.5 million with $4 million in bonuses and incentives. He made his NFL debut in the Vikings season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Moss played with the Vikings for seven years, from 1998 to 2004. In 2005 he was traded to the Oakland Raiders and played with the team until 2006. In 2007 he was traded to the New England Patriots. In 2008 he became a free agent and was re-signed with the Patriots on a three-year contract for $27 million with $14.1 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $12 million. He was traded his original team, the Minnesota Vikings, in 2010, but was waved a month later. He was signed with the Tennessee Titans for the 2010 season and in 2011 became a free agent. In 2012 he was signed to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers and retired from the NFL at the end of the season. In 2018 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is now currently a studio analyst for ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown.
