Raúl Méndez (born April 11, 1975 in Torreon, Mexico) is a Mexican actor, best known for appearing in the Netflix original series Sense8 and Narcos. In native Mexico, he is best known for his role on the series El Señor de los Cielos and in films like KM 31.
Méndez was inspired to pursue acting at 13 years old after seeing the film ‘Man & Little Boy’ being shot in his home town of Torreon, Mexico. He took acting classes at the Center for Arts Education Monterey and La Casa del Teatro.
After graduating with a degree in Dramatic Arts, Méndez joined Los Endebles Theatre Company where he began to develop his craft working in numerous theatrical productions. He has worked in more than 30 movies, including "Matando Cabos", where he was nominated for several awards. He also participated in several American projects shot on location in Mexico, including "For Greater Glory" sharing scenes with Andy Garcia, and with Martin Sheen in "The Kid." He appeared in the Showtime miniseries Fidel alongside fellow Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal.
