RAY BLK Bio

Rita Ekwere, AKA Ray Blk, was born on August 2 1994 in Nigeria. She currently resides in London, England. She is a singer-songwriter recognized as the first unsigned artist to win the BBC’s Sound of 2017. She released her debut EP Havisham in 2015, with hits “Lie to Me” and “Ride and Die,” which has over 100,000 views on youtube and 200,000 streams. She dropped her debut album Durt in 2016. Her single “My Hood” featuring Stormzy currently has over 1.3 million streams. Other hit songs include “Patience,” “5050,” and “Chill Out” feat. SG Lewis. In the same year, she was nominated for best newcomer at the MOBO Awards. She currently releases all her music through her own label.
