Ray Wylie Hubbard Bio

Born on November 13, 1946, in Soper, Oklahoma, United States, Ray Wylie Hubbard is an American country singer-songwriter who was the leading force behind the ’70s country music landscape. His multi-genre music combines Americana, blues, and country rock accents to produce sounds that satisfy at all level. In 1973, Jerry Jeff Walker recorded Hubbard’s most famous composition “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother”, leading him to the spotlight. Following the release, he secured a deal with Warner Bros. He recorded various albums with several record labels during the ’80s but nothing turned out as successful as his first tune. In the early 1990s, the singer-songwriter returned with a renewed passion and steadily built a devoted audience with albums like Lost Train of Thought” (1992), Loco Gringo’s Lament” (1994), and Crusades of the Restless Knights (1999). He released his latest albums Tell The Devil That I’m Getting There As Fast As I Can” (2017) and Co-starring” (2020), and they are as interesting and engaging as their titles.
