Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. The current members of the band are Anthony Kiedis on vocals, Josh Klinghoffer on guitar, Flea on bass guitar, and Chad Smith on drums. They are one of the best-selling bands of all time and have sold over 80 million records worldwide. They released their debut studio album in 1984 self-titled The Red Hot Chili Peppers and have since released the albums Freaky Styley, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother’s Milk, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, Californiacation, By the Way, Stadium Arcadium, I’m with You, and The Gateway. They have also released two live albums, eleven compilation albums, and five EPs. The Red Hot Chili Peppers hold the record for most number one singles, most top-ten songs, and most cumulative weeks at number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. They have been nominated for numerous awards and have won six Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards and more. In 2012 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
