Redlight Bio

Hugh Pescod, popularly known by the moniker Redlight or Clipz or Conqueror, is a British DJ and singer-songwriter who was born on February 19th, 1980, in Bristol, Avon, England. He was born and raised in Bristol but he’s now based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. He is known for his House, Dancehall, Drum, and Bass music.

Pescod started out under the alias DJ Clipz, recording and releasing a number of well-received drum-n-bass singles. He also founded the label Audio Zoo. After about 10 years in the d-n-b game, he set up the alias Redlight and debuted in 2009 with the EP Lobster Boy. The next year he released a successful single What You Talking About? featuring Ms. Dynamite. He rose to fame when he signed with Universal in 2012 and released his chart-topping single Get Out My Head which peaked at #18 on the UK charts. He also released Lost in Your Love which was an even bigger hit peaking at #5.

In 2013 he DJed more and dropped just one single Switch It Off. 36 EP followed the next year while Get Money (that featured Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon) followed. One of his earlier popular singles was 2007’s Dr. Mario: Burning Up.
