Renée Fleming is a singer born on 14th February 1956 in Pennsylvania, United States. She started her career by performing in smaller concerts. She used to frequent the Musica Viva concert series in the 1980s. At the age of 29, she won the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She has won five Grammy Awards and has been nominated 18 times. She has also won the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, Germany’s Gross of the Order of Merit, and the World Economic Forum’s Crystal Award.
For most of her career, she has performed new music, which include concert pieces, world premieres of operas as well as songs composed by leading artists like Brad Mehldau, Anders Hillborh, Kevin Puts, and Andrew Previn. She has also recorded and sings, indie rock, chansons, lieder, and music theatre. She has also appeared in theatrical and Broadway productions in the United States and the United Kingdom.
