Born in 1978, Residente (René Juan Pérez Joglar) is a Peurto Rican rapper and filmmaker from San Juan. After a smash hit single, “Se Vale To-To”, in 2005, Residente began working with his stepbrother Eduardo José Cabra Martínez under the band name Calle 13. The pair were signed to White Lion Records and released five albums “Calle 13” (2005), “Residente o Visitante” (2007), “Los de Atras Vienen Conmigo” (2008), “Entren Los Que Quieran” (2010), and “Multi Viral” (2014). The dynamic duo ended up being one of the best selling Peurto Rican artists ever. In 2017 Residente released his first self-titled solo album, “Residente”. He has collaborated with such artists as Orishas, Nelly Furtado, and Alejandro Sanz.
