Reverend Horton Heat is the stage name of the American musician Jim Heath. He was born in 1959 in Dallas, Texas. It is also the name of his psychobilly trio formed in Dallas, Texas in 1985. The members of the trio are Heath on lead vocals and guitar, Jimbo Wallace on upright bass, and Arjuna “RJ” Contreras on drums. They played their first shows in the deep Ellum neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. The band is signed with the record label Victoria Records. They released their debut studio album in 1990 titled Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em and have since released the albums The Full-Custom Gospel Sounds of the Reverend Horton Heat, Liquor in the Front, It’s Martini Time, Space Heater, Spend a Night in the Box, Lucky 7, We Three Kings, Laughin’ & Cryin’ with the Reverend Horton Heat, REV, and Whole New Life. They have also released three collections, two DVDs, and a number of compilations. In 1994 the band performed the song “Loaded Gun” on the film Love and a .45. Their songs have been featured in the shows, films, and video games, Beavis and Butt-head, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, Redneck Rampage, Motorstorm, and others.
