Ricardo Lamas was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States on May 21, 1982. He went to Elmhurst College where he participated in amateur wrestling. He was ranked as the No. 10 Current Best MMA featherweight Fighter and as of February 11, 2019, he is the No. 78 Current Best Pound For Pound MMA Fighter. He is known by the nickname The Bully and he is affiliated with MMA Masters. His last fight was in November 2018, UFC Fight Night 140, where he won against Darren Elkins. Prior to the fight, he lost twice in a row. Lamas was part of the World Extreme Cagefighting since 2009. His first appearance in UFC after the merger with WEC was in 2011 on UFC Versus 4 against Matt Grice. In the match, he won against Grice by TKO.
