Richard Holt Madeley is an English TV personality, show presenter, and writer best known for his work in television. He was born in Romford, Essex, England, on May 13, 1956.
Richard began his career in journalism as a local newspaper reporter in the 1970s before moving on to regional television news. He became a household name in the 1990s as one-half of the presenting team on the popular daytime show This Morning alongside his wife, Judy Finnigan. The couple also presented their own prime-time show, Richard and Judy, on Channel 4 from 2001 to 2008.
Aside from his work in television, Richard is also an accomplished author. He has written several books, including a novel and a memoir. His novel, Some Day I'll Find You, was published in 2013, and his memoir, Fathers and Sons, was published in 2019.
Richard has won several awards for his work in broadcasting, including the National Television Award for Most Popular Daytime Programme in 2002 and the Television and Radio Industries Club Award for TV Personality of the Year in 2005.
