Richard Harris (popularly known as Richard Rankin) is a Scottish actor best known for his works in the shows Burnistoun and Outlander. Born on January 4, 1983, in Glasgow, where he lived his early life before moving to Stonelaw High School at ten.
Rankin initially went to Glasgow Caledonian University, where he was studying Information Technology. However, during a short holiday, he decided to make a career in acting after meeting with a film producer. When he returned to Glasgow, he changed schools to Langside College with his brother Collin Harris.
His professional career began in 2006 when he starred in VideoGaiden alongside celebrity act Robert Florence. Since then, Rankin has featured in several fils and releases, including Oona Chapli, The Crimson Field and Silent Witness.
Rankin is no stranger to awards, as he was named The Best Actor at the Glasgow 48 Hour Film Project (2011) and 2017 Satellite Award (2017).
