Richard Reed Parry is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist and musical artist best known as a member of the indie-rock band Arcade Fire. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on October 4, 1977. Richard began his music career in 2001, but he became famous when he joined the band Arcade Fire which also features Win Butler, William Butler, Régine Chassagne, Tim Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara, and Sarah Neufeld. As a member of Arcade Fire he released the hit singles Everything Now, The Suburbs, Ready to Start, Wake Up, and he won multiple awards including a Grammy Award for Album of the Year, two Brit Awards for Best International Album, and Best International Group, and over ten Juno Awards for Songwriter of the Year, Alternative Album of the Year, Group of the Year, and Album of the Year.
