Richard Sambora is a rock guitarist best known for being a member of stadium rock band Bon Jovi. Inspired in his childhood by such icons as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, Sambora traveled to Los Angeles originally to audition for a place in KISS. Getting back to New Jersey, a contact put him in touch with Bon Jovi, which signed a contract with Mercury Records shortly after.
Richard Sambora was just in time to ride along on one of the most successful band careers in history. Every single Bon Jovi studio album, from their self-titled debut in 1984 to their latest release “This House Is Not for Sale” in 2016 have certified at least gold in multiple countries, and all but the last one have gone platinum, multi-platinum, or diamond. “Slippery When Wet” (1986) alone broke multiple sales records worldwide. Sambora, outside of Bon Jovi, has also had successful solo projects.
