Sir Richard Starkey MBE, also known professionally as Ringo Starr, was born on 7th July, 1940 in Liverpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom. He is a drummer, musician, artist, performer, singer, songwriter, and actor. Ringo Starr gained international fame and glory in the '60s as a drummer for the legendary band Beatles. Pop/rock is his musical specialty, and his style is contemporary pop/rock and rock & roll. Aside from being a member of The Beatles, he was also a member of Rory Storm & the Hurricanes and Plastic Ono Band.
