Ringo Starr Bio

Sir Richard Starkey MBE, also known professionally as Ringo Starr, was born on 7th July, 1940 in Liverpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom. He is a drummer, musician, artist, performer, singer, songwriter, and actor. Ringo Starr gained international fame and glory in the '60s as a drummer for the legendary band Beatles. Pop/rock is his musical specialty, and his style is contemporary pop/rock and rock & roll. Aside from being a member of The Beatles, he was also a member of Rory Storm & the Hurricanes and Plastic Ono Band. Some of his song highlights are “It Don't Come Easy”, “Honey Don't”, “Back off Boogaloo”, “With a Little Help From My Friends”, “Yellow Submarine”, “Walk With You”, “Beaucoups of Blues”, and many more. Starr co-wrote the song “What Goes On” together with John Lennon. In the movies, he is known for “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Popstar: Never Stop Stopping”, “The Beatles Anthology”, “Saint Street”, etc. In 1971, Starr and his fellow Beatles members won an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song Score for “Let It Be”. He has won 5 Grammy Awards and has a total of 12 Awards won and 23 nominations.
