Rita Ora Bio

Singer/songwriter Rita Ora was born Rita Sahatçiu in Pristina, Kosovo, on November 26, 1990. She got her start as a backup vocalist and has appeared on tracks by James Morrison, Craig David, and others. Rita Ora was discovered after auditioning for a British song competition and was flown out to New York to meet with Jay-Z so that she could be signed with Roc Nation in 2009. She finally released her debut album in 2012, titled Ora, which was preceded by the single “R.I.P” featuring Tinie Tempah. Other artists who were instrumental in the creation of her debut album were Will.i.Am, Drake, and The-Dream, to name a few. In October of that year, Rita Ora embarked on her first tour, which went through five stops in the United States.

In 2013, Rita Ora provided guest vocals for the Snoop Dogg single “Torn Apart”, and that same year, she appeared at the Future Music Festival in Australia and in Malaysia. 2014 saw her collaboration with fellow singer Iggy Azalea, as well as the announcement of her casting in the 2015 film 50 Shades of Grey as Mia, Mr. Grey’s sister.
