Rival Consoles is the artist name of Ryan West, an English electronic music composer and producer. He was born on the 10th of November, 1985, as Ryan Lee West, in London, England. His interest in music started as a child, and he learned to play guitar as a teen, before switching to a DJ set in his college years. In 2007, he released a self-released EP under the name Aparatec, before releasing his official debut EP months later, this time under the name Rival Consoles, through the label Erased Tapes. West has released a string of remixes and original songs since the mid 2000s, including remixes of Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and Jon Hopkins. West’s 2015 album “Howl” was a success, and it propelled him to perform around the globe, both at major venues and at electronic music festivals such as Mutek, Lovebox and Sónar.
