Rob Base Bio
Rob Base is a rapper from Harlem, famed for his duo with DJ E-Z Rock. They released their debut single, “It Takes Two,” in 1988. The song immediately hit the Top 40, and came to Platinum certification. It is hailed as one of the greatest hip hop singles of all time. The song was used to promote their debut album of the same name, which also went Platinum, charting at #33 on the US Charts. They followed the album up with the next year’s The Incredible Base, which charted at #50 on the US Charts, and was certified Gold. The two disbanded following their second album, reuniting for an album in 1994 that failed to chart. Rob Base has remained a low key figure in hip hop ever since, making occasional returns to the stage at festivals and private parties.
