Rob Benedict is an American actor and writer, born on September 21, 1970, in Columbia, Missouri. He is best known for his role as God in the dark fantasy series Supernatural, and TV series such as Threshold and Felicity. After graduating, Rob started performing in regional theaters across the country. His other television credits include recurring roles in Masters of Sex, Kings of Con with Richard Speight Jr., and Susanna with Anna Paquin. During his career, he has made appearances in many films opposite Russell Crowe, Ryan Reynolds, Rosario Dawson, and many more actors. Besides his acting career, he is also well known as the lead singer and songwriter of the LA-based rock band Louden Swain. The actor survived a stroke in October 2012 during a Supernatural Convention in Toronto, and his experience as a survivor was included in the album Sky Alive in 2014.
