Robert Brydon Jones is a Welsh singer-writer, actor and comedian, born May 3, 1965, in Glamorgan, Wales. Growing up in Balgan, Brydon attended St John’s school with Eddie Izzard. He also attended Dumbarton School in Swansea before moving to Porthcawl Comprehensive School at age 14.
At Porthcawl Comprehensive School, he met Ruth Jones. Ruth and Brydon’s theatre group members would later work on the same project, Gavin and Stacey. According to him, his love for comedy started in his early days through the works of Barry Humphries, Frankie Howerd and Woody Allen.
He is an accomplished actor/comedian who has been featured in several movies and TV series such as Supernova, Sitcom, Gavin & Stacey, Marion and Geoff, The Rob Brydon Show, The Guess List and The Trip series, to name a few.
In addition to the TV and movie appearances, Brydon has also worked on radio programs, did stand-up comedy and was a panelist in several comedy shows.
To honor his achievement, Brydon was made an honorary fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he previously studied in 2011. In 2013, Brydon was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
